The FunPay listing limit and the “Too many offers” error
SelyaA listing will not post? It is one of three limits: per section, per account or by speed. Below is how to tell which one, and what to do.
On FunPay you cannot post as many offers as you like. We hit the limits ourselves when we put a catalog of several hundred listings online. Here is what we saw.
Three different limits
| What | What it looks like | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Limit per section | The section does not accept a new offer and asks you to delete unneeded ones. In Steam → “Gifts” it was 80 offers for us. | Keep the best sellers in the section, switch off or delete the rest. |
| Limit per account | New listings do not publish although there is room in the section. | Switch off weak listings: room is freed. |
| Creation speed | “Too many offers, please wait”. For us it came after about 260 listings created in a row. | Take a pause: more than 15 minutes was enough for us. After that, create more slowly. |
FunPay does not publish exact numbers, and they may differ from account to account. The table shows what we saw.
How to choose what to keep
- One listing per game in the common section. If a game is in both the common Steam section and its own, put the most popular edition in the common one and the rest in the game's section.
- Look at sales, not at the number of listings. Twenty listings that sell are worth more than two hundred that take up the limit.
- Do not split variants without need. FunPay has no variants inside a listing, as GGSel does: one region or denomination is one listing. Each of them takes up room.
Do not start the upload a second time
When FunPay answers “please wait”, you want to press again. Do not: while the limit has not passed, repeats do nothing and only add requests. If an upload broke off, wait for the pause and continue from where it stopped, not from the start. Otherwise you get duplicates.
