Raising listings on FunPay: how often and how to automate it
SelyaOn FunPay the one who raised later stands higher. The button is available about once in four hours, and pressing it early gets a refusal. Below is how to raise on time.
Listings on FunPay in a game's section are ordered by the time they were raised: whoever raised later is higher. You can raise not at any moment but about once every few hours. Whoever does it on time stays at the top of the list.
How raising works
- Not single listings are raised but all your offers in one game's sections at once. If you have two sections in a game, for example “Gifts” and “Top-up”, FunPay asks which of them to raise.
- After raising, the button goes on a break. For us it was about four hours, and FunPay itself says how much longer to wait.
- Press early and FunPay simply refuses. Your position does not change, but you do not get higher either.
Why it does not work by hand
If you have listings in twenty games, each has its own timer. To stay on top you have to visit the site every few hours, nights included, and go through every game. Miss the window by an hour and you are an hour below your competitors.
Where auto-raise breaks
- They press by their own timer, not by FunPay's answer. The break varies. The right way is to take the time from the site's answer: FunPay tells you when you can raise again.
- They forget the time on restart. The bot restarts and tries to raise everything again at once — it gets a pile of refusals and extra requests.
- They send too many requests. FunPay limits the rate: with frequent requests the site starts answering with a “too many requests” error (429). Then not only raising stops working but also chats and order delivery.
- They do not raise games with several sections. We found this mistake in our own work: games where we had two sections were not raised for three days, because instead of raising FunPay showed a window to choose sections.
What else affects the position
A buyer looks at more than the raise. The price with FunPay's fee, the reviews and the seller's online status are visible right in the list. A raised listing with the highest price will sell worse than a lower, cheaper one.
