How to start selling on GGSel
SelyaOn GGSel the seller pays the fee, and it is taken out of the price. Money arrives after a hold, usually 7 days. Below is how to list and not lose your first sales.
GGSel is a store of digital goods: game keys and gifts, top-ups, subscriptions, payment cards. Unlike FunPay it is not an exchange with sections but a catalog with product cards. Below is what you need to know to list and not lose money in the first weeks.
How GGSel differs from FunPay
| GGSel | FunPay | |
|---|---|---|
| How goods are found | A catalog: game → edition → platform, plus search | A game's sections, a list of offers |
| Who pays the fee | The seller: it is taken out of the price | The buyer: added on top of your price |
| When money arrives | After a hold: usually 7 days, the term depends on the category and the seller | After the buyer confirms |
| How to get higher | Paid advertising in the category | Free raising once every few hours |
| API for sellers | Yes, open | No, bots work through the site |
1. Choose the right category
On GGSel every game has its own tree: edition, platform, region. A buyer walks down it, so a product in a neighboring category is simply not seen. A Steam key of the standard edition must sit in the standard edition and on the Steam platform, not at the root of the game.
The category can be changed later, but with a catch: after a move GGSel takes the product off sale until it is moderated again. More in the article on moderation.
2. Write the title and the description
- In the title — what exactly the buyer gets. Give the game and edition, the platform and the way of receiving: a key, a gift or a top-up by ID. The word “auto-delivery” is fitting only if the goods really are delivered automatically.
- In the description — what arrives and where. Add what details you need from the buyer (a login, an ID or the account's region) and how to activate the goods. The more detail, the fewer questions and refunds.
- Do not promise “24/7”, “instantly” or “100%” unless you can guarantee it. At night auto-delivery may not fire, and then the promise turns into a dispute.
If you sell the same product on GGSel and FunPay, do not copy the text word for word: write for each marketplace in your own words.
3. Set the price with the fee in mind
On GGSel the seller pays the fee, and it is taken out of the price. Each category has its own: from 0.5 to 12% plus 2.7% for accepting the payment. On our orders it came to 6.7–8.7% of the price in total. Hence a simple rule: adding the fee percentage to your cost is not enough, you have to divide the price. The price calculator does it for you.
Categories also have a minimum price. GGSel will not save a price below it, so a cheap product is sometimes better not listed at all.
A buyer may also pay in dollars. If you calculate profit on orders yourself, check the order's currency: an amount in dollars read as rubles is an order “in the red” out of nothing. That once stopped the delivery of a real order for us.
4. Delivering the order
After payment the order shows up in your account, and it has a conversation with the buyer. Keys and codes you already have can be uploaded to the product in advance — then GGSel delivers them itself. If the goods are bought per order (a Steam gift, a top-up, a code from a supplier), you or a bot has to deliver: get the goods and write them to the buyer.
5. Money and withdrawal
The payment is frozen for the hold period. Usually it is 7 days from the date of sale, but GGSel sets the term by the product's category and the seller's personal terms, and it can only be shortened by asking support. You can see your term in the unfreeze date in the sales of your account. So you need your own money for per-order purchases: a week of sales is always stuck in the hold. More in the article “When the money arrives”.
6. Connect the API
When you have more than a dozen products, watching prices and orders by hand is hard. GGSel has an API for sellers: through it a bot sees orders, answers buyers, changes prices and switches products off. How to get the key and the seller ID is in the article “GGSel API”.
Common mistakes
- A product at the root of the game, not in an edition. It is not found although it exists.
- A price worked out as “cost + percentage”. After the fee the profit is smaller than it looks, and on cheap goods it drops to zero.
- Moving many products in the daytime. They all go to moderation at once, and the showcase empties in the best selling hours.
- Paying for purchases out of revenue. Revenue is frozen for a week, and the supplier has to be paid today.
